India is known in the world for software development. To enter in the field of software development, there are some courses that are mandatory. Among such courses MCA and M.Tech are quite popular. In this blog, we will discuss mainly about difference, pros and cons of engineering courses versus computer application course.

Check points below to understand BCA, MCA and B.Tech:

  1. Syllabus: In India syllabus varies with universities. If we check combined syllabus of BCA and MCA then it is often equivalent to bachelor degree of engineering. Study is all about syllabus, if you are going to conquer wide range and meaningful syllabus then it will be definitely helpful in career. Overall master degree of computer application is equivalent to bachelor degree in engineering.
  2. Course duration: when we opt for computer application then it gives one year excess study over engineering. Many companies see this as one of advantage while hiring. One year extra in educational institution gives more chance to candidate to learn things. Considering this point BCA + MCA course should be preferred.
  3. Placement Records: one can easily find engineering dedicated college while computer application dedicated colleges are not easy to find. In India there are reputed names like IIT, NIT, IIIT etc. On other hand computer application courses are often offered by same colleges where engineering is taught. If we compare then engineering courses have edge in terms of ease of placement because of dedicated colleges. IIT and NIT have maintained 94.3% placement records in the session 2018-19.
